Potty Party!

It looks like we might really be getting somewhere with potty training! The child has always loved to sit (and stand) on her potty, but that's where it ended. Sure, we'd had some lucky breaks a few times, but they were more coincidences than anything else.

But I think she might be on to something! Yesterday, after insisting to go on the potty, she peed! This morning, though I was scrambling to get myself ready for work on time, I gave in to her "ka-ka" mantra and plopped her down on her pretty pink potty. And holy cow.....she pooped!! I was so stunned...... I dropped everything and the potty party was on! We danced and jumped around, hooted and hollered and picked out a sparkly sticker as her reward.

Oh yeah, but then I had to empty it. Ewwwwwwwwwwwww.

Yay Kasia!!!!!!!!! This is exciting stuff! I can see why she's so into her potty - it's quite spectacular! I can imagine how excited you must have been and would have loved to witness the celebration for myself.

She's on her way!

Yeah!!! Woo hoo!! When we were going through this, I bought a roll of small clear trashbags and lined the potty. You are right... EWWWWW!!!! Oh the things we moms do for our kiddos.

why is it that we can change a dirty diaper without much ado over the smell and the mess, yet we cringe over having to empty the potty??? I'm with you on the emptying the potty....it just seems to be more gross than changing that dirty diaper. I wonder why?

Bennett's Grandma, I was thinking precisely the same thing! Why is changing a diaper okay but emptying the potty is.....ACK!!

Jeanette...excellent idea! (Note to self: clear trash bags...lots of em!)

Barbara, as a recent potty party joiner, take note of previous note!

Hi! Wanted to come pay you a long overdue visit, sorry, sometimes writing my blog is all I can handle between work and the kids. That is SO awesome about Kasia! We are still working on potty training with Max, and it's been a long haul. That really is one fantastic potty!

Looking forward to connecting more, adding you to blogroll, too!
